Question:
My husband and I work in healthcare and we moved to our city for new jobs within the last year, and bought our first house, which closed in January.
But after six months we are unhappy with the jobs and in our new location, and we’re looking to move back home to Philadelphia.
We know we’ll be able to sell our current home pretty easily, but we’re wondering, because we haven’t started our new jobs in Philadelphia yet, can we qualify for a mortgage to buy our next home in Philadelphia?
Answer:
Well, you would need to have offer letters from the new employer in order to qualify for the new house. You don’t necessarily need to start the job before closing, but you’ll definitely need an offer letter from your new employer.
Another option would be, if you had enough income to qualify for both payments, to try buying the house in Philadelphia as a second home.
