7 Creative Date Nights You Can Enjoy at Home

date nightsThere’s nothing better than coming home after a long day of work (or play), getting some comfy clothes on and entering relax mode with your honey.

It’s times like these when the idea of going out for a date night can seem like a chore rather than fun. So why not bring date night to you, in the comfort of your own home? We’ve come up with 7 super simple yet surprisingly awesome date night ideas to enjoy at home. Check it out!

7 Creative Date Nights You Can Enjoy at Home

1) Netflix Binge Night

Been meaning to catch up on some Breaking Bad or perhaps you need to satisfy your sweet tooth with Cupcake Wars? Well, whatever you’re craving, what better way to enjoy unending episodes of Netflix shows than with your soulmate on your comfy couch? Grab a blanket, some popcorn, and get ready to laugh (or cry) from a debatably unhealthy dose of multimedia goodness.

2) Backyard Star Gazing

When we think of star gazing, we often imagine ourselves on a deserted part of the earth with campfires and a whole lot of nothingness surrounding us. Recreate that feeling in your own backyard. All you need is a blanket and your babe. It always helps when the night is clear, so make sure to check the weather beforehand.

3) Build a Fort and Order Takeout

I don’t know about you, but I loved building forts when I was younger. Which is all the more reason to build one as an adult. Add some hanging lights for ambiance, order take out and enjoy great conversation in your little homemade hiding place.

4) Cook Together

Cooking together can build teamwork. No need to be Master Chefs – pick out a recipe you both will enjoy, pick up the ingredients on the way home and you’ll be on your way to make magic happen in the kitchen. Caution: Cooking together may cause sparks to fly and make romance sizzle. Time to turn up the heat! 😉

5) Write to Family

With everything so fast-paced these days, there’s something really special about receiving a hand-written note from someone you love. Sit down with your soul mate and write to your family members together. Let them know reasons why you love them or just simply say hi in a hand-made card. Even if you’re not crafty, this can be a fun activity to try with your spouse and bring you closer together. You may even want to end your date by writing a note to each other and exchanging it.

6) Watch the Sunset

So often we take the beauty of nature for granted. Fix a quick dinner like PB & J or pop some popcorn and sit back, relax, and watch the sky change colors before your eyes.

7) Play Games

Whether you’re into card games or you want to bring back your childhood with Candyland, playing board games with a glass of wine is always a great date idea. Friendly competition is always fun, but don’t forget to laugh and talk and focus on the joy of the game rather than just winning.
